An insider with Square-Enix has confirmed that the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series will end with Kingdom Hearts 3: Final Crisis.
Fans have been anticipating the sequel to Kingdom Hearts 2 for eight years now, will now finally be able to play out the last chapter of it and the Final Fantasy series in one single blow out game.
Our source over at Square-Enix has confirmed that after the third Final Fantasy XIII installment is released, they will drop Kingdom Hearts 3: Final Crisis. The last installment in the both games will feature an all out epic battle to save the world’s from the Heartless. In a statement given to us exclusively:
“Player will access the world’s from each Final Fantasy game, collecting both protagonists and antagonists from each universe. In the end they will fight a war against some of the toughest Heartless characters we have created thus far, with a boss battle that will blow players out of the water.”
The battle system utilized in the game will be similar to that of Final Fantasy XII, which utilized Kingdom Hearts real time movement with Final Fantasy’s turn-based fighting techniques. Also leaked was this advertisement for the game featuring some of the characters players will be able to acquire for the ultimate battle:
Additional characters are being kept under wraps, including the redesigns of some favorites as possessed Heartless characters. That same source has also told us that the game will release on both iOS and conventional gaming platforms with special provisions for Steam users.
