How Cyber Security Is Changing Technology Today

Published on

Cyber security is changing technology today by making it more difficult for attackers to exploit vulnerabilities. In the past, many companies relied on outdated security practices that left them open to attack. Today, however, companies are adopting new technologies and practices that make it much harder for attackers to succeed.

Here are a few ways that cyber security is changing technology today:

Cloud Computing

One of the most important changes is the adoption of cloud computing. Cloud computing gives companies the ability to store and process data off-site, like offshore software development, which makes it more difficult for attackers to access. In addition, cloud providers often have better security controls in place than companies do on their own.

Stronger Passwords and Encryption

One of the most important changes to cyber security is the use of stronger passwords and encryption. In the past, many companies used weak passwords that could be easily guessed by attackers.

Many companies are now encrypting data at rest, in transit, and even in use. This makes it much more difficult for attackers to access sensitive data.

Authentication

Authentication is another area where companies are making changes. In the past, many companies used simple passwords that were easy to guess. Today, however, companies are increasingly using two-factor authentication, which requires a user to have two forms of identification.

Identity Management

Identity management is another area where companies are making changes. In the past, many companies used the same username and password for all of their employees. This made it easy for attackers to gain access to systems if they knew the username and password.

Today, however, companies are using different passwords for different employees and requiring employees to use strong passwords.

Adopting New Technologies

These are just a few of the ways that cyber security is changing technology today. These changes are having a major impact on the way that companies operate and the way that they protect their data. As the threat landscape continues to evolve, companies will need to adopt new technologies and practices to stay ahead of the curve.
